Dear Reflection,
Whenever I cry, you're the echo in my tears,
I long to pour my heart out, yet my voice disappears.
Though your eyes won’t bear the weight of my sorrow,
I ache to share what words cannot borrow.
Whenever I smile, your laughter haunts my joy,
I wish to share these moments, but you're coy.
The things that lift my heart, make me sing,
Might not even stir your soul with the same sting.
When I close my eyes, you’re the whisper in my dreams,
When I open them, you’re the shadow in my beams.
Everywhere I look, your presence lingers near,
Yet you drift away, untouched, without fear.
I adore your smile and wish I could be the cause,
To spark your joy, to give your world pause.
Do you think of me in your quietest hours?
Do I ever drift through your moments like scattered flowers?
For I long to be the one who brightens your way,
To lift your soul and chase the shadows away.
Though you may never know or care to see,
I’ll be here, yours completely, come what may.
