We Need a Revolution

Updated: Oct 5, 2024

We are a tired generation.

We wake up late.

We sleep late.

We work until late,

game through the night

or chat.

We watch videos, movies, our pimples, our skin, our scars,

And sometimes others.

It breaks the mundane.

We do the mundane,

or the mundane does us.

You see, we need entertainment

and not words of wisdom.

In fact, we don’t need words at all.

We just need the groove.

Why, isn’t life a trance?

Don’t we keep moving,

without knowing where we are going?

So, our rockstars can jabber, they don’t need to mean.

Because we already know –

melody stops when clamour begins,

it began long ago,

and things don’t melt

when they have turned to dust.

Our leaders don’t need to show a way.

We know where to go.

Haven’t we chosen them because

they can take us where we want to go?

We don’t get surprised.

We already know.

Everything is an equation,

either of numbers or of feelings.

A good feeling plus a bad one

Makes us stand still in time.

Won’t that be tiring?
