Water

By Daniel John Simmons

Water water come to me,

The holy divine entity.

A single drop is the key,

Can quench my thirst for eternity.

Water water oh so pure,

I can taste you on my lips.

A mouthful is enough to cure,

The loneliness which I can rinse.

Water water oh so sweet,

Finally I get to taste you.

How can you be such a cheat?

When you promised such virtue.
