The fading light of hope during dusk
As the darkness of self-doubt during the night settles in
Causing chaos, erasing the calming twinkling of stars
Wrapping around like a blanket, muffling years
As the troubles of dark self-doubt surround,
As the troubles of the enduring day finally come to a close,
As the stresses of the mind take on a giant form
To take one down in their storm
But the mind begins to wander.
The possibilities are endless.
For the magic words that come to the mind,
“What if things were different?”
And then the bright, robust, ephemeral light of hope shines.
Dispelling the darkness, bringing forth new possibilities,
To forge a new star,
That will leave behind the energy to forge many others.
