I gaze at the night sky
Dark and dreary
Mysterious and murky
Reflecting the void in my eyes
I've already forgiven you
But forgetting is a different task
The whole night sky denies me light
Without you
Then the night lightens
To an ethereal lilac
Still dark, but not murky
Mysterious, but not dreary
I become my soul adrift
Embracing the duality
Of the night that holds my secrets
And the day that's seen my smiles
Twilight, a rift in time and space
When universes merge
When the past and future tryst with the present
I can't help but wonder
If you're on the other side
Marvelling on this miracle
Wondering what would've been of us
Had we still been one.
Shooting stars skip through the sky
Ripping the heavens asunder
Setting all ablaze
Like the infernal desire within us
The falling cinders
Morph into you
Under the twilight Sun-
A fiery lass
Draped in the scarlet gown of that night
My pendant still around your neck
You embody the ferocity of passion
And the heavenliness of sin
Your eyes reflect a remorseful tale
As your hands extend to touch mine
Oh how I've waited
For you to be mine again
Our lips lock under the twilight sky
As our regrets kindle
I frost the burning lust in you
While you reignite mine
The first ray of sun dawns
Vapourizing us, part by part
As we become the same cinders that made us
I cant help but wonder
If you're on the other side
Marvelling on this miracle
Wondering what would've been of us
Had either of us survivedÂ
