The Weight of Sorrow

By Mauli Sinha

Sorrow, I felt,

Was tragic tears that made a sea

A scream that pierced the sky

Pain, given shape and form

But now I realise,

Sorrow need not be declaration

It is the brutal rupture of a heart

A choking stillness, the inability to make a sound

The stolen segment of your soul
