"The Unrequited Love"

By Aarohi Hazra

It often puzzles me the thoughts of a lover,

You're oh! so divine; my feelings they hover.

In the lands of the hopeless, I've slaved way,

I must quest back, lest I go astray.

My vision is hazed with flashes of you,

My heart bleeds with love, naïve and true.

I've strung so long on your vine of thorn,

Your poison I'll drink my soul’s forlorn.

The wine you've spilt seeps so deep,

On the husk of my heart, you keep.

This portion of love you've cursed on me,

I reek of thy sullied sympathy.
