The Prophecy

Noted Nest

By S.Nithya Dharshini

Our heart strings tied in a knot.

You looked agitated I said, “worry not,

Fate is an old friend of mine,

I’m sure he’ll keep us together with time.”

My heart which was yours skipped a beat.

Knots broken you were taken away from me.

Lost, as I drowned in the ocean of my tears.

Another promise broken slowly becoming my fear.

If I lose my breath, I shall see you again,

My old friend writes my tale until then.

Heartbroken, blaming myself was all the could be done. Oceans drained, tears left behind were none.

All my life I shall question my friend why you and not me. Fate replied, “My friend, Death falling in love was never meant to be.”
