The Path of Humanity

Noted Nest

By Yuvan Deb

The human race has taken a turn,

Where once kindness dwelled, now the flames of hatred crackle.

Love and reverence forgotten under the weight of time,

Brought forth only pain and miseries,

And the screeches of its tormented whines.

Where once we resided in nature's gentle embrace,

From where all life came and shall return,

Butchering it without a speck of mercy,

Now we stain our hands with the reasons for its decline.

O mighty mankind,

Where are you striding?

Greed, lust, and envy infesting our souls,

Creeping like poison through our veins.

Behold the peace we left so far behind,

Metamorphosed into something we can only hope to rewind.

But hope still twilights in the dankness of the dark,

Dazzling in the heart of man,

That perhaps will gleam the way to a greater trail,

Leading us to a brighter dawn.
