The Journey of a Dream

Dreams don’t always follow straight line

Sometimes they zigzag across

Desperation and despair

Uncertain paths don’t have roadmaps

A dream can start off with clarity and intent

But on the way it may stumble over

Obstacles and challenges

Disappointments and disenchantment

At being held back

There are more people

Pulling us down than pushing us forward

Naysayers are the loudest

It is only the brave and the fearless

Who pursue nevertheless

A dream is what gives meaning to life

But they can be lonely places

Self-belief clashes with self-doubts

There’s a constant battle

Between the logical mind and the impassioned heart

Bewildering and blinding

Sometimes the dream can feel like a mirage

The oasis can be seen

But then the closer we get

The more unrealistic it feels

Anticipation is sweeter than the outcome

Getting up every time we fall

Dusting away the cobwebs of dissenting voices

Essential part of every journey of a dream

Losing more than attaining

Failing more than rising

Often dreams put us through

Times of tough testing

Our tenacity, perspicuity

Our character and flaws

What distinguishes  dreamers from others

Is the relentless pursuance

Persistence, vision, endurance

Never giving in or backing down

Never abandoning the goal

The drive, the passion, the aspiration

Dreams aren’t for the timid or the tame

Some journeys make us better people

The journey of a dream

Not an ordinary, but an impossible one!
