The First Meet

By Ami Mehta

The first time I saw you, it felt nothing short of magic,

Like being drawn into the melody of a blissful tune, so nostalgic.

I blushed and looked away as you caught me in that gaze,

Our hands touched, reaching for the same book, like fate’s little phase.

You glanced at me and smiled, a spark of a story in the making,

Nothing more romantic than seeing a man with Nicholas Sparks in his taking.

Your touch, though brief, was calming like a gentle breeze,

I wished to hold your hand longer, for time to freeze.

You stepped closer, your voice warm with a husky tone,

I lost myself in your brown eyes and that subtle musky cologne.

Hope, nerves, and confusion stirred inside, feelings undefined,

My heart raced as if the universe had given me a sign.

A boy meets a girl, in a library, by chance intertwined

Like a scene from a novel, and I hope one day, you'll be mine.
