THE CLASS

In a room of children like me,

I found home but very little peace.

Laughing and chattering, we went around

as the teacher in front of us began to hound.

Gossiping like there was no tomorrow to sharing our sorrows

and making remarks sharper than any arrow.

Band together day and night to make our lives a little more bright.

And through the years, we have grown,

But now it is time to go.

On this day, we might weep,

but the next, we will laugh at the memories we keep,

In a room of children like me,

I found my friends, my other family.
