the Breeze

the breeze

As I sat in the breeze,

I couldn't help but wish for someone like the wind.

Who'd touch my heart and the deepest parts of my soul

as gently as it skimmed over the tallest trees,

making them move to it’s own rhythm.

Making dancing waves in the once-quiet pond,

As the water glistened in happiness,

and the flowers bent to its will.

Carrying the giggles of little fledglings, it helped

soar higher in the sky as it brushed past my ear,

entangling my hair as if it were the strings of my heart.
