Terror Clutch

Terror Clutch

Deep in my afternoon slumber,

I felt something encumber.

Like a nightmare, it still haunts,

I have no idea what it wants.

Sneaking in my room was a ghost,

My heart started pounding the most.

The fear drew me insane,

Trapped in bed, bound by a chain.

All I could see was a silhouette,

Paralyzed, about the impending threat.

Eyes trying to shut as visions loom,

A shroud of fear in my silent room.

My brain refuses to answer the plight,

Frozen in time, unable to fight.

The restless body shivers there,

As terror grips, beyond compare.

From depths, I sense my soul awaken,

To somewhere unknown it is taken.

Weary, conceded, on the bed I lay,

Closed my eyes and drifted away.
