Tell Me

By Samriddhi M

Tell me,

About all the times when her warm lips brushed against your skin, about how the tips of her fingers slipped between your lips and her nails dug into your skin with a delightful pain.

About all the times when your skin was pressed against hers, breaths mingling, fingers clenching as your lips parted with devastating ecstasy.

Tell me,

About those late afternoons, that you spent wrapped in her essence, both intoxicated on the sound of each other's voice, as you offered her bits of your soul.

About those mumbled “I love you’s”, whispered promises that are too many to count and unspoken words that are too late to be said out loud.

Tell me,

Did you feel your heart clench, your throat tighten and your breath hitch when she looked into your eyes and called you a friend as if those memories just didn’t exist?

Did you feel the ache as your eyes searched her face and scanned her eyes, desperate to find that one lingering echo of those feelings and found none at all?

Tell me,

did it hurt?
