Shattered Glass

By Apoorva

I am a shattered glass

I tried my best to collect every piece

Couldn't glue them all

I want to hold you like wine

But you slip through, all red and bloody

You blame me.

Am useless.

You chose another glass

It's fancier.

I'll cut you if you hold me

I'll spill drinks on white carpet

Am ugly to look at

I don't want to hurt you.

Am trying

I tried

It's time to let go of my pieces

Live up to the term broken

Atleast you can throw me out

Atleast I'll be thrown out

Somewhere I wouldn't have to see your lips touch another one for a sip.

Burn me

Melt me

Make me new

But so many pieces

Collection will take an eternity.
