Tearing apart, moving away,
We were one in the same way.
You picked me up when I fell down,
You carried away the seed that was not even grown.
Sitting alone in a room with no windows,
Crying, crying, hurting like heavy blows.
They call me weak, they call me flawed,
Give no shoulders, just a lot of scoff.
Wanting to die, they show me responsibilities.
Searching for help, they show me realities.
Trying to go back, they show me actuality.
Looking for heights, they show me declivity.
One day, I get up with wider eyes,
Far away, I see a beautiful light.
Attracting me to the world of sight,
A world that is beautiful and bright, on the other side.
I smile, I shine,
I get up by myself, they call me selfish.
I make myself laugh, I make myself happy,
They call me selfish.
I rise, I glow,
They call me selfish.
I make the world bow,
They call me selfish.
I grow, I love,
They call me selfish.
I like, I live,
They call me selfish.
You grow, you glow,
You are not selfish.
You aim, you shoot,
You are not selfish.
You know your worth,
You are not selfish.
You rock when you laugh,
You are not selfish.
Keep smiling, keep shining,
Don’t let the world drown your shine.
Don’t let them play with your beautiful mind.
