Reality of Life

Noted Nest

By Manasi Manchanda

Innocence left my hand and swept away as I walked through the battles of life...

Happiness got fed up and left me as I was too busy alone trying to ceaselessly fight.

My ability to trust got lost between inauthentic people being fake surrounded with lies...

And I lost my smile with people that walked away, to my smile I couldn’t even bid goodbye.

They left me with enough room for loneliness right next to me, permanently reside...

I got tears in abundance, pouring endlessly that rigidly refused to dry.

Trust came to me every now and then again, but each time with an expiration date...

And in love I gave so much of myself that when it was stolen and I deceived, I was left too

exhausted to even hate.
