Race of Happiness

We all heard the story of a rabbit and a tortoise, an universal story of two best friends. One day they thought of starting a race, let's give the story a different perspective.

when they were about to start the race, the tortoise said you'll win for sure, you can run but even if I'll run, my running will be still slower than your walk. Even if we are competing the winner has already been decided.

This statement struck hard into the rabbit's head, but he didn't react. They took different paths to reach the same destination.

The tortoise started walking, keeping a failure in his mind. As it was a race he had to reach the destination, he kept continuing even if he will fail, his best friend gonna win.

On the other hand, the rabbit, for him the race was really a piece of cake to win. Success was in his mind. After running for half a mile his friend's unhappy face floated in front of his eyes. He thought If he’ll succeed will he be happy? His friend gonna lose. After thinking a while, he decided to achieve happiness, not the success of winning. Between winning and losing there is a recess, happiness.

After a while when the tortoise reached the destination but did not find the rabbit, he got worried. So he waited. Somehow after some time, the rabbit reached trying to act as if he is too tired, and asked did he already reached. So you are already a winner. You won the race. Are you happy now?

The tortoise was smart; he told him did you just deliberately reach late. Rabbit replied you were walking and you do not need rest but I do need rest because I was running while taking a nap I fell asleep. Although I'm a fast runner, my heart is lazy.

The tortoise accepted his logic, and become too happy that he did make it. Whatever it was he just won, which he never even imagined. Rabbit saw the happiness he wanted. At the end of the completion, they both are the winners. For the rabbit, happiness is watching his best friend win and for tortoise at least once to make to the end. They both achieved their goals by competing in the race. Don't compete for winning, compete for your happiness and when you'll reach the destination you'll find your true happiness.
