Our Love

By Md Farhan Khan

You were the light; I was the dark.

Yearned for you was my heart,

But your presence demanded my parting.

The absence of you was my existence.

In the end, we were spread apart;

In the end, we were meant to not be a part

Of each other’s hearts.

Poison is to me what life is to you.

I yearn for you, but I die with you.

A close part of each other,

Two sides of a coin.

Closest companions, but not the best lovers.

Your presence is my ruin,

And your absence is my doom.
