My Moment of Peace

i wrote down all the things i like about you on a lovely card,

you were going a thousand miles away,

even to imagine it was really hard.

i wrote down how it’s not like with others the way it’s like

with you, even in a room full of chaos you’re my moment of

peace, when i’m with you i’m at ease.

i wrote down how it feels when you hold me in your arms,

how i’m instantly relieved when we touch each other’s

palms.

i wrote down how i feel in your heartfelt embrace that i can

never replace, in your presence i never felt like needing

space.
