Medusa

Noted Nest

By Swarnim Dixit ( Ezra)

We weren’t demeter and persephone,

Because she wouldn’t dry the lands for me,

We weren’t demeter and persephone ,

Because she wouldn’t grieve me,

We were athena and medusa,

Because she overlooks my devotion,

But always notices my mistakes,

We are athena and medusa,

Because she would turn my beauty to snakes,

And then scream on top of her lungs for the world to hear,

How much of a cruel monster I am,

She would make sure if people get close enough to me,

The turn into stone,

For i am a monster but wasn’t you who made me one,

So we will never be demeter and persephone,

Because she has always seen the Medusa in me,
