"Maybe in another universe",
I wrote as a regret,
However now, I feel content.
Because maybe in another universe,
I would ruin my life for you,
I would say what I would regret to,
Knowing clearly,
I won't want to.
So, maybe in another universe,
Because I can't love,
Because I don't want to be selflessly in love.
Maybe in another universe,
I won't learn too much,
I would just be okay,
So, Maybe in another universe,
But in this?
In this,
I am learning, growing, being happy and free,
I am becoming the best of me.
Yes, in this,
You can't stop me from being a queen,
Because I chose me,
Over all your pleads.
So, maybe in another universe,
You will win me over,
Or you will crush me down,
Maybe in another universe,
You can make me frown,
But in this,
You cannot take away my crown.
Maybe in another universe,
I live all the stories in my head,
The stories that aren't mine,
But society's effect,
So, maybe in another universe,
As, in this,
I chose mine.

beautiful
Regrets are so common but to accept them and say “maybe it just wasn’t meant to be in this universe” is such a tough yet important emotion and you portrayed it so beautifully in this poem!
Beautifully written ❤️
