Loves War

Noted Nest

By Jai Vaid

The red fiery smoke filled the air,

With grey skies, raining fire,

The soldier limps, gasping in despair,

The blazing red field, covered with barbed wire,

The blazing red field, burning in flair.

The old man opens his eyes, coming back to his senses,

His heart was racing, brain pounding against his skull,

He remembers the old wound on his leg, he winces,

His memories flood back again, his eyes go dull,

His mind slips away again, reliving his past crisis.
