Love You, as You Truly Are

By Sumit Bhatia

Many will love the bloom of your spring,

But I cherish the winters that left you bare,

Those quiet moments when your soul quakes,

And your silence spills stories your lips never told.

The world adores your stride in sunlight,

But I lean into the shadowed corners,

Where your fears gather like whispered prayers,

Finding beauty even in the cracks of your walls.

They love the strength you wear like armor,

Yet I linger where the pieces falter,

Embracing the softness you hide from view,

For even your fragility feels like truth.

When others are drawn to your laughter,

I hear the music within your sighs,

The longing that trembles beneath your breath,

A quiet symphony only I can understand.

They marvel at your rising,

But I kneel with you in the fall,

Knowing that in your most human moments,

You are more divine that ever before.

They see you as you wish to be seen;

I love you as you truly are,

A mosaic of brilliance and brokenness,

Each fragment sacred, each flaw divine.
