Lost Beneath A Starless Dome

Updated: Dec 14, 2024

In the silence of the night, I roam,

Lost beneath a starless dome.

The shadows stretch, they twist and creep,

Whispering secrets they dare not keep.

At first, the dark is strange and cold,

A void that grips with hands too bold.

But linger long, and soon you'll see,

The dark becomes a part of me.

Eyes adjust to the lack of light,

I find my way without the sight.

Shapes emerge where none once stood,

Familiar now, this midnight wood.

The fear that held me starts to fade,

I move with ease through night’s parade.

The darkness speaks, and now I know,

It’s only fear that makes it grow.

For when you stand within its heart,

You learn the dark's just where you start.

Not all that's hidden seeks to harm,

In knowing it, you disarm.

Out in the black, I've learned to see,

The shadows aren’t the end of me.
