Long Story Short

Noted Nest

By Vaibhavi Pimplikar

Faithfully,

I wrote my name next to his till the letter dripped in

The blue sea

I swam all the way to find a new place for me

I found a map,

But his name was written in the north star

Oh, this was only hope

I got a feeling that there’s something to know

And I fell for the pretty words

Right down the rabbit hole

Long story short, I was right

Took my ship to sail

No fate, no story said

Long story short, I loved the wrong guy

Now, I am all about me

I am all about me

Really,

I always knew I’d find a new green island to see

A missing me, who would find the key to everything I want to see

When I left the war,

The sword became a pen and wrote a story inked in

Both black and white,

If you read it, the history swims back to life

And I fell for the pretty words

Right down the rabbit hole

Long story short, I was right

Took my ship to sail

No fate, no story said

Long story short, I loved the wrong guy

Now, I am all about me

I am all about me

No more picking swords now,

There is a golden sky

There’s white flag in air

Instead of black- blue sky

No more picking swords now, there is a golden sky

These waves bring back to a brand new life

Past me, I want to tell you not to get lost in these petty things

Your worries,

You swing with them high enough to give them a chance to see

Stars in sky, hopes and dreams do come true in right time

And here it feels like home, my bare feet leave their mark where I go

And I fell for the pretty words

Right down the rabbit hole

Long story short, I was right

Took my ship to sail

No map, no story said

Long story short, I loved the wrong guy

Now, I am all about me

I am all about me

Long story short,

It was a rough time

Long story short,

I survived.
