I will not write a word about you anymore
I refuse to waste a drop more of my ink,
On the sorrows, definitions and joys you brought into my life,
Because they are meaningless now.
You’ve been long gone but your words and your eyes stayed with me,
As the always will.
And I memorized those words and those eyes in,
Conversations in my mind and my words.
Despite my very best efforts, you have faded away and will continue to do so.
Which is why I must burn all the pictures and memories of you,
Everything that begins and ends with you,
I should burn the part of me that belongs to you.
I will burn all these and cremate them so that,
They can lie there in peace,
Away from both of minds, where they belong
Because either of us don’t claim them.
I shall plant lilies over their graves, to keep them company, to immortalize the memories that once you and I shared.
