“I love you”
no no no don’t say it.
don’t say it cause every time you do,
you leave.
you leave and you come back
and you leave again.
and I'm tired.
I'm tired, my love.
my eyes bleed
cause water isn’t enough to express my sorrow;
my lips part to scream
if only there was more time to borrow;
my mind sleeps
waiting for tomorrow.
are the trinkets in your room not enough,
that you have to break my heart?
don’t say it.
don’t say it and break the cycle.
don’t say it and i’ll make a room in my house
with football posters and periodic tables.
don’t say it and i’ll rip out my heart for you
so it can pump you blood every time you feel cold.
don’t say it and stay with me forevermore.
we’ll fulfil our stupid dream
of a farm with cats and dogs and goats and cows,
and you’ll never have to cry again
or have thought about crashing your cycle
into oncoming traffic.
it’ll all be worth
not hearing those words from you
ever again,
it’ll all be worth it…
