I Wait...

By Ameera Baga

You will always be a moon in the starry sky,

And when the morning comes I’d have to wish you a goodbye.

I wait for the night again relentlessly,

With the pain increasing tremendously

But the night never comes, still I am there,

But you are not visible anywhere

Maybe it was a new moon and you’d come to me later,

But is not waiting for you better?

The night gradually arrives and there I see,

You are shining as lustrous as you could be.

But you seem different and don’t recognise me,

Did you forget me really?

Even if you did, I will always remember you,

No matter in what shape or out of the blue.

And I’ll wave to you every night,

Until you disappear from my sight.
