What I find hard is to watch,
To have to watch without being able to fix this broken string.
A broken string that I once saw stringing,
A string that was plucked and strummed on,
Played with everyday,
Stretched, twisted and tied,
Till it eventually lost it’s elasticity.
I hate having to watch Something I’ve seen before,
Something for which I know there is no cure.
All I can do is watch,
And be present so as to maybe be of some help.
I want to tell you to be okay,
And to just be.
Because you can.
In fact that’s all you have to do.
You’re enough.
I look at you and I feel what I’d once felt,
For what was my forever.
I’m here to tell you,
That this will not be yours.
