A thousand thoughts in the mind,
And none to tell them to;
I know, my people, I'll always find,
And they'll get me through.
A world of pain is what we live in,
And pray to be free of it;
You pay for committing the smallest sin,
And what you lose is yourself, bit by bit.
Fortune favours the brave they say,
And yet cherish the rich;
For you might be a gold digger,
And still fall for an empty ditch.
Trust will get you everywhere,
And it will get you everything;
Just that it'll never be enough anywhere,
And it'll not amount to anything.
Tears dripping through hollow eyes,
And lies are what they feed;
From the ashes I shall always rise,
And onwards is where I shall heed.
