Growing up fills me with dread,
As I lie awake in my bed,
Childhood dreams now seem misled, Facing fears like a storm ahead.
Morning’s light, I hoped would shine, Bring me solace, life benign,
Yet reality’s sharp incline,
Leaves my heart with a heavy sign.
Late at night, as shadows grow, Loneliness begins to sow,
Songs of sorrow, a haunting flow,
Fears I never used to know.
Life’s a blur, the years rush by,
Once vibrant dreams now seem to die, Yearning to touch the limitless sky,
But they fade, and I silently sigh.
Oh-oh, dreams once vivid and clear, Now twisted, lost in fear,
In a world austere, Growing up sheds a silent tear.
I believed in boundless flight,
But growing up dims the light,
Now I dread the encroaching night, Dreams obscured, out of sight.
Boundless skies now seem distant far, Reality leaves a lingering scar,
For one final, fading star,
Trying to break free from the bar.
