Under the night sky,
I remembered that I,
Danced till my heart sparkled with joy.
I painted the mornings, rouge and tangerine,
Added a tinge of emerald green,
Wore a crown,
Oh, how precious it was to be me.
They said I was a blessing,
“Will always treasure you darling”,
Only if they warned me,
Love was a policy, there were conditions that had to be fulfilled,
Fail one, you’ll be punished, be robbed of everything,
It’ll be the end of your reign.
Only if they gave me a sign,
I wouldn’t have slept so soundly,
Would have questioned my credulity,
Cause it’s little too late, pandora already twisted her fate,
One mistake, she hears “take her to the dungeons”,
She’s the reason why the whole world suffers.
Long story short, all the sparkle has gone,
Fading beauty and pale skin,
Oh, how worthless it to be me,
Cause now, Under the moonshine,
Her body feels numb, every part is paralysed,
Only stream of tears is allowed, to flow,
Morning vision deteriorates, the palette is left with colour black,
Please forgive my ignorance, take me back,
Won’t be a disappointment, I beg just renew the contract.
SUMMARY:
This poem is about a feeling, when you are succeeding in life, being an obedient person, everyone celebrates you, loves you. The moment you make one mistake which leads into failure, the voices around you including the voices in your own head change, you don’t hear appreciation but only criticism.
