It had no beginning or end,
Yet it was a tale of love.
Just two unacquainted souls,
Yearning to love and to be loved.
Yet fate kept them apart,
Each living at distant ends of the Earth.
What one sought,
Was effortlessly fulfilled by the other.
They always sensed a presence in their lives,
Yet their paths never Intertwined.
Perhaps they were soulmates,
Yet their souls never met.
Their entire life, they pursued,
For something, or someone.
Yet they were never able to
Meet their needs.
She wed a decent man,
Yet her heart remained unfulfilled.
And unable to love someone,
He embraced solitude.
Perhaps will and love alone weren’t enough
To unite them.
Perhaps due to the mistrust in their own emotions
They never dared to dream.
Even the heavens,
Could no longer hold their tears.
Perhaps destiny was not at fault,
It was their choices that set them apart.
Yet, in their hearts,
They always knew the truth.
On her final breath, she whispered,
“I sensed your presence! Why didn’t you come for me?”
On his last exhale, he murmured,
“Perhaps in another lifetime, Forgive me.”
