Echoes of Time

Noted Nest

By Poorvi

Time never asked for permission.

One day, I was playing with friends, laughing endlessly,

And the next, they were just memories fading away.

The days became shorter,

The life that was once so colourful and full of joy,

Faded into something dull before I noticed.

I used to wake up excited,

Curious about what the day would bring.

Now all I pray for is my day to be good,

Hoping it will pass without the weight of expectations.

Earlier, I used to live,

Now all I do is survive.

I watch the clock intently-

Tick, tick, tick.

And I think, when did I grow up so fast?

When did the laughter turn into silence,

And the days became routine?

When did the years turn into something to count,

Instead of moments to cherish?

When did life become a game of survival instead of something to live fully?
