Do you remember Mumma?
When I first lay on your lap?
Smiling at you without my 32 whites,
I saw you clap.
Do you remember Mumma?
When I came crawling into the kitchen?
You caught me red handed when,
Into the sweet box I was making my expedition.
Do you remember Mumma?
When you kept an invisible camera to watch over me?
I used to look upwards and easily agree.
Do you remember when you bought yummy snacks for me?
Then I quietly went to play with friends,
Thinking about my homework you would get worried?
Do you remember when I cried my heart out in pain?
Nobody hurt me but those rejections had caused me immense strain.
Do you remember when I got my first approval?
Your heart danced like that of children in a carousel?
Do you remember Mumma?
When I saw you walking on the street?
A wide smile I donned,
That you make others look so obsolete.
