waiting for the sun to rise, running my thoughts beside a tranquil lake.
where the world slept in silence, yet your absence kept me awake.
the winter wind, crisp and cold, tenderly brushed my cheeks and I shivered,
i was amused by your deep-set eyes, and my feelings were triggered.
a solitary maple leaf, bidding farewell to its tree, alighted upon my lap,
again, my heart was heading toward you. ensnared in a love trap.
the sun was about to rise, but the clouds overpowered the sky,
after such a long time of isolation, a potent force tugged at me, that I couldn’t deny.
gentle raindrops kissed the lake’s surface, and made it tremble,
a mild rain of emotions rose inside me, and my broken heart started to assemble.
i was lost in the war of my heart and mind when the churning of maples caught my attention,
you were standing in front of me. Was it a dream, or were you standing in my dimension?
kneeling down, you extended your hand, adorned with the kindest smile,
a gift-wrapped parcel of happiness, fashioned in Destiny’s epic style.
