Noted Nest

Deep in The Meadows

By Apoorva

Deep in the meadows

I built a home

No one came

It was only for me

Where sunlight couldn't reach

and moon generously peeked

I stray along the lake

Stray along the trees.

A stranger knocked

I made tea

The food was hot

Dessert was sweet

The man after days got to eat

The frail body got better

The eyes got back their glimmer

I felt warmth without fire

Felt bright without the sun

Should the seasons change

Or should the man get a coat

Will he survive in my winters

Or do I have to burn in his light

A meeting was held

The snow shall melt

But not every time will be the same

Neither one will get the fame

Half a year the heat will stay

Half a year the cold will set

Half the day the sun will rise

Half the day the moon will shine

He can stay!

Oh! so hard I prayed

The willows mustn't weep now

I found my love somehow
