People strive to shine
Through murk and storms
But, true brightness just waits
For storms to abate or pass on
Then gleam or dazzle the onlooker.
Just like the moon that strives
To shine through the night’s darkness
With the borrowed reflection of earth.
But, has to fade away
In the star’s brightness.
While the Sun just blazes consistently
Until the clouds shed away.
People try to cloud others’ brightness
To limelight their reflected gleams
But, just a chink in their relentless
Shrouding, shoots the suppressed beam
Uncloaking the brightness in-born.
People waste precious lives
In pursuit of usurping others’ light.
But, borrowed flames eventually fuse
So, ignite the natural embers within
To spark, as darkness can be shed
Even by the tiny twinkling stars.
