Dear goddess of nature
Why today of all days are you crying such downhearted
tears?
How do I know you ask?
The looming smell of petrichor has vanished from our
land,
Instead there is a satanic metallic scent.
The birds were not humming prior to this sunless pour,
Instead they lay deep in their nest.
All else seems dull and murky,
I wonder whether it's just my eyes ,
Because to me the sounds of rain are so disconsolate,
And all the colours out of sorts.
But may I say,
It's not the time for such sad tears,
If you cry like this then so will we,
As your tears reach us before they do the ground.
