One sunny evening, Athu, Giru, and Tora were playing at home. They were having lots of fun until...
WHOOSH!
A little bat flew right through their window!
"Eek!" Athu hid behind a chair. He was scared of the tiny flying visitor.
"Don't be afraid," said Tora with a kind smile. "Bats are our friends!"
Brave Giru grabbed a soft towel. Very carefully, he caught the bat and set it free outside the window.
"That was scary," said Athu, peeking out from behind the chair.
"Actually, bats are amazing!" said Giru. "They can fly in the dark using special sounds!"
"But how?" asked Athu, coming closer to the window.
"Let me show you something fun," said Tora. She took Athu to an empty room.
"Try saying 'hello' really loud," she suggested.
"HELLO!" shouted Athu.
"HELLO... hello... hello..." His voice bounced back to him!
"That's called an echo," Tora explained. "Bats make special sounds like this to know where things are. That's how they fly without bumping into anything!"
"Wow!" Athu's eyes grew big and bright. "Bats aren't scary at all. They're super cool!"
That night, Athu learned something important: sometimes the things that seem scary can turn out to be wonderful!
