Ascendancy

Noted Nest

By Aishna Shobhawat

I long to tread where none have dared before,

To live the life my heart has yearned for,

To rise above, where limits cease to bind,

And breathe with ease, leaving shadows behind.

I seek to stand, unburdened by regret,

Yet carry scars the world may not forget.

No longer bound by chains of past mistake,

I forge my path, though some may fear the stake.

Once a victim, now a force untamed,

My will ignites, though through fire I’m framed.

I chase the throne, where strength and courage meet,

But know the cost—of dreams both dark and sweet.

I wish the world to bow, to feel the roar,

To speak my name in pride, not fear, once more.

“Long reign the sovereign,” the echoes rise,

The queen ascends, with fire in her eyes.

Yet in the stillness, when the crowd is gone,

I face the truth—of all I've left undone.

For in this reign, no crown is free from weight,

And even power may bear its price of fate.
