Our names combined together
spell out the word ‘sky’
and isn’t it perfect for us.
You're bright like the sun,
giving off energy enough to power the universe,
but not to scorch its elements.
Some people find you annoying -
a pain in the ass,
but only those who study you
know how important you really are.
I'm one of them, cause me?
I'm the moon.
The elements that you keep alive,
survive on my pull.
There are a multitude of songs based on me -
praising my beauty and pointing out my spots,
made by the same people that curse you.
But what they don't realise is
that I am, afterall, an element of the universe -
that without you, wouldn't be me.
I'm the bird that takes flight
at the break of dawn,
spreading its wings
and flying across the globe
in search of food to sustain itself
and twigs to make its nest.
You're the breeze that whispers
secrets to the trees
and lifts me up
and pushes me forward,
inch by inch
battling gravity to keep me up.
My feathers swish
as the wind comes at me with full force
and glide as the currents pave my path.
It breathes in the cold
which reaches its lungs and then back out,
then back in and back out,
and so on until the stones being thrown
finally get it,
and even the wind can't keep her up.
Tip, tip, tip, i fall
onto the grass,
into the pond,
onto the rocks.
The air which seemed was being cooked on a stove
is now soothed by the cool precipitation
coming from higher above
anyone’s imagination.
I quench the thirst of the jungle,
I fuel the fertile soil,
I bring relief to the beings.
I fall and fall and fall
until the clouds can let me.
You usually stay clear of my business
but when you know i need to be free,
you don’t hesitate
to open up your doors
and let me cascade down the sky
for you know one way or another,
I'll find my way back to you.
You are from where i emerge,
but i am from which you are formed.
