A Latibule

Noted Nest

By Tanishka Ujawane

In a dense stand of ivy and roses,

Sunlight creeps in,

Breaking the profound silence;

Unearthing long lost mysteries within

An arching rainbow,

Daytimes’ pretty ribbon.

The droplets of rain on leaves,

Shining like emeralds at dawn.

The night echoes with the hymns of love,

Sung by the cricket and his pals

They dance and twirl with the little roses,

Welcoming a newly found love.

Yet, this little latibule is arcane to the world,

Longing for a visitor; to be discovered.
