Her

By Suryanjali Jha

A girl excitedly  celebrates her every special day,

A boy turns her excitement into a cold way.

Isn’t she worthy enough to celebrate her birthday, or a new year party ?

Or the boy wants to give her a new identity as a woman dummy.

She turns her emotions into silence,

The boy declares her as his substance.

She turns the table, becomes cold hearted,

Boy puts her in guilt, her suicidal thoughts imparted.

And the blaming game started, she remained silent,

Character assassination, physical appearance and  treated with violence.

Where is love? At night,

Where is respect? At debit.

She doesn’t belong to him, she is in a cage,

He owns her like property, strange.

She could not even share anything with anyone, he pretended to be perfect,

She lost her bright smile, he declared her to be isolated.

Later he knocked on the door, the door was never open,

She left the world, he blamed her mental illness certified and proven.

Truth was buried, justice was buried,

Whom to blame, Love? Lust? Life? Or Her?
